Founding K-1 Teachers (Bilingual: Spanish & English) – Click to apply
GALA Spanish Immersion Teachers will be primarily responsible for teaching one group of students for 70% of their instructional day in Spanish. Spanish Immersion instruction will focus on Spanish Language Arts (SLA), as well as the delivery of an integrated curriculum in all of the core subjects of Math, ELA, Science, Social Studies through the framework of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Program. As founding staff members, our Spanish teachers will contribute to the development of the GALA’s curriculum and Academic Plan, and work as a collaborative team member with the Mandarin and English teachers, as well as the other Spanish Immersion teachers to ensure dual proficiency in core content and literacy. Our ideal candidates are professional educators who are licensed in the area of preK-3 elementary education with a bilingual endorsement, or Spanish educators with primary level experience who are willing to obtain a supplemental preK-3 license.
Founding Music Teacher – Click to apply
GALA is in search of one Founding Music Teacher with Ohio Teaching Licensure in the area of K-12 General Music. This position will be either part time or full time depending on student enrollment. All of GALA’s instruction, and especially our arts programming, will be framed by the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program and be delivered in accordance with GALA’s dual language immersion model (Mandarin/English or Spanish/English). As one of our founding staff members, our Founding Music Teacher will contribute to the development of GALA’s curriculum and Academic Plan, and work as a collaborative team member with the English, Mandarin and Spanish teachers to ensure arts integration and dual proficiency in core content and literacy. The Music Teacher will serve all of GALA’s students in Kindergarten and First grade throughout the week, and teach two or three forty-five minute classes to each group on rotating basis throughout the week.
Teaching Assistants (Bilingual in Mandarin/English, or Spanish/English a plus) – Click to apply
GALA’s teaching assistants will provide support to the lead instructor and to the students in an appropriate and professional manner that improves the overall quality of education in the classroom. The Teaching Assistant will provide both instructional, and non-instructional supports in the classroom, and throughout the school. They will work alongside the teacher to help integrate all core subjects (Math, ELA, Science, Social Studies) and the target languages (Mandarin & Spanish) with the curriculum and content being delivered within the immersion classroom. As a founding staff member, this position will actively support the development of the GALA’s curriculum and Academic Plan, and work as a collaborative team member with the English/Mandarin/Spanish teachers to ensure dual proficiency in core content and literacy for all students at GALA. Founding Administrative Assistant – Click to apply
GALA’s Administrative Assistant will be the face and the voice of GALA. They will perform a variety of administrative, clerical, and student/staff support work involving both specific routines and broadly defined policies and procedures; greet and interact with the public; work cooperatively with staff, students, and parents; and complete other related duties as assigned. They will fulfill all of the administrative, secretarial and clerical responsibilities necessary to run an efficient and effective school office that assists the Principal and School Director or designee, and school staff members, in the performance of their key responsibilities. The administrative assistant helps to assure that a safe learning environment and effective instruction are provided so that all students meet and exceed grade level expectations socially, emotionally, and academically.
